If you’ve been around the Christian homemaking space online for any length of time, you’ve probably ended up at Little House Living. Merissa has been blogging for many years, sharing her family’s life.

Last year she shared her story of how she unwittingly married into and then escaped the Two By Twos. If you’ve never heard of the 2×2 group, then you are in good company. I had never heard of them either. There is an extensive Wikipedia entry about them: Two By Twos. They also go by Friends and Workers.

Merissa shares her story below. Her husband, David Alink, travels around the country and records the stories of people who have broken free from the Two By Two organization. He shares them on his YouTube channel at David Alink.

    Hello Sallie;

    I hope this finds you well.

    I haven’t clicked on the links that you shared but I come from this back ground; with generations of my family being in this cult. Leaving will cost you, as leaving any cult. It is also called the “secret sect” and that will tell you why you haven’t heard about it. If you want more info I can pass on more links so you can learn more.

      Hi Birdie,

      If you have some links that our community here would find helpful or interesting, feel free to leave them in a comment.

      I’m very thankful you escaped.

        Thank you Sallie.

        Set free….to grow, to love, to learn God’s word, to KNOW that I have salvation because God chose me.

    Good afternoon Sallie.

    I forgot to mention that the people that go to this hidden group do not like to be called “two by two”. They self identify as “professing”, “friends” and amongst themselves they use the word “The Truth”. The last is code word for I belong and everyone else is going to hell.

    The following are links and books that have helped me in my journey to freedom.

      Also just watched this youtube and it was a great conversation.

      I’ve watched this couple’s youtube talking about leaving LDS, so respect their care in the interviews that they do.

    Saw an interview by Allie Beth Stuckey yesterday where she interviewed a woman who was a part of this group in Australia and her future husband at the time influenced her and prayed she would get out. Interview was about 7-12 months ago. Very interesting and how she came to Christ and got married to her husband a year later. Loved this story.

A Christian Nation

"The real object of the first amendment was not to countenance, much less to advance, Mahometanism, or Judaism, or infidelity, by prostrating Christianity; but to exclude all rivalry among christian sects, and to prevent any national ecclesiastical establishment, which should give to a hierarchy the exclusive patronage of the national government."

Joseph Story (Associate Justice of the Supreme Court), Commentaries on the Constitution of the United States (1833), § 1871.
