The Jussie Smollett Situation

I put most of this together a few days ago and intended on waiting until something definite happened. It looks like this is going to get dragged out. As of this moment, Jussie Smollett is refusing to talk to police again. But if CNN and other MSM outlets are reporting that he allegedly hired two guys to attack him and the entire thing is a hoax, I’m thinking it is probably true.

So I’m going to post this. If new details develop, I will gladly correct whatever is incorrect here.

DISCLAIMER: SOME PROFANITY – I try not to share info with profanity, but sometimes it really illustrates the point.

Jussie Smollett Attack Case and Trump Derangement Syndrome

This is the man in question. Jussie Smollett is a black gay man on a popular television show. If I’m remembering all the details off the top of my head (and correct me if I’m wrong), he was allegedly attacked in Chicago at 2:00 a.m. in sub-zero weather by two men wearing MAGA hats. The men shouted, “This is MAGA country!” They put a noose on him. They beat him up and then just stopped. Like the Covington thing, this never seemed right from the beginning.

This will show you his views about President Trump as he replies to one of Trump’s tweets about the wall/border issue:

#JussieSmollett case is probably on hold until after the Chicago Mayoral Election, but we have not have not forgotten. #JussieSmollettHoax pic.twitter.com/GFQ9d4aoEP

We joke around our house about Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) and how people blame Trump for everything. But I fully expect at some point someone is going to try to use it as a form of mental disorder to get out of a crime.

It seems odd that someone whose career was going as well as @JussieSmollett's would risk it all to stage this hoax, until you read his timeline where Smollett appeared OBSESSED with #TDS. Trump Derangement Syndrome makes you do some crazy irrational stuff apparently.

Faking a hate crime is terrible. Faking a hate crime on the coldest night in Chicago in three decades, when no one in their right mind would be out, is terrible and stupid.

Immediate Virtue Signaling Support of Smollett

Naturally, his story was instantly believed by The Left and Democrats because he is black and gay. Kamala Harris and Corey Booker both immediately issued statements in support. Now that it appears it may be a carefully orchestrated hoax, they both are cautioning people to wait for all the facts to come out.

Typical.

Kamala Harris (running for president)

Pelosi immediately believed him and virtue signaled her support. She has since deleted this tweet with no comment and no acknowledging she was wrong.

And of course Alyssa Milano (of sitting over Kavanaugh’s shoulder at his confirmation fame) who believes everything that could reflect badly on Trump and his supporters.

Remember when @Alyssa_Milano said this about Jussie Smollet before she had any facts of course #JussieSmollettHoax pic.twitter.com/JpzN6NOccW

Al Sharpton said this. To his credit, he has since said that if they did fake it they should be punished. Unlike most of the rest, he isn’t pretending nothing has changed.

And a whole bunch more

Just some Jussie Smollett record keeping.

Mainstream Media Coverage of Smollett

And people wonder why no one buys magazines or believes the press any longer? I highly recommend you click through and read this GQ coverage. It’s disgusting.

And these assholes wonder why they are called the #EnemyOfThePeople… https://t.co/p3G9eMaCey

Changing Narrative – Now It’s Bad It Didn’t Happen

Now that it appears he was not brutally attacked by Trump supporters, the narrative has shifted. Now that people on The Left can’t hate Trump supporters because of this attack, they are upset that people are glad the hoax was exposed. They claim that people are acting gleefully that it was a hoax.

Yes, because Trump and his supporters are ALWAYS to blame. ALWAYS. Even if this guy staged his own attack and blamed MAGA-wearing thugs, Trump is still to blame. And instead of being glad that no one really perpetrated a hate crime against a black gay man, people on The Left are upset that those who were skeptical all along about this are happy the truth came out.

It’s a sickness. The Left is sick.

Why isn't this good news? What does it say about America's alleged "systemic" and "structural" and "institutional" racism when, in 2019, the cupboard is so bare that "racist attacks" have to be manufactured?#JussieSmollettHoax

I was reading the book of Jonah this morning, and I realized that it is going to be very hard for me to forgive and accept some of these people, when they repent from their virtue-signaling and turn to actual virtue. But I’ll try.

Real virtue is dead to them. It is all about victimization and identity politics. It is truly another mindset and many people who are just barely left or right of center haven’t figured that out yet. They still see everything as Democrats and Republicans. It’s not that way any longer or that simple.

A Christian Nation

"The real object of the first amendment was not to countenance, much less to advance, Mahometanism, or Judaism, or infidelity, by prostrating Christianity; but to exclude all rivalry among christian sects, and to prevent any national ecclesiastical establishment, which should give to a hierarchy the exclusive patronage of the national government."

Joseph Story (Associate Justice of the Supreme Court), Commentaries on the Constitution of the United States (1833), § 1871.
